Hi,
After installing the public beta 2 i noticed that my Media Player 11 is not responding. I tried to remove it and install it again but with no luck. any idea on the cause? what do you recomend?
Thansk

Media Player 11 not responding
Are you running on a genuine version of XP? Which OS are you using, and what are your system specs? If it's causing such a problem... just revert back to WMP10.

I am on 5381 x64 right now and Media Player 11 is working just fine. The only time Media Player 11 became non responsive was when I launched the 32-bit version from Program Files (x86) folder.
Open Control Panel (set to "Classic View") > open Problem Reports and Solutions > View Problem History (left pane) > look for any reports relating to Media Player 11 > select it > right click it > click "View Details" > Copy the contents and paste here. It will better help in diagnosing the problem.
Also, I would install BETA 2 Build 5384, since the issue might have been fixed. -- -- Andre Windows Connected | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta

Mine sort of does that, except it will play media...but is unresponsive and has to be killed via the task manager. It all started when Urge stopped working. I can only load a media file once. If I start WMP, then it won't do anything.

Nope...I've been trying various things, but nothing works. I still have no control once WMP11 loads.

Has anyone solved this???? This is a major problem for me.. I cant play any video files with WMP 11. (well, some play but I can't control them - or they crash in a few seconds).

Wow, I was finally able to get it working!!
For my setup, I have a Pocket PC connected. I couldnt get the Windows Mobile Device Center to work either.
In my looking around, I went into Device Manager and saw under network adapters a Microsoft Windows Mobile Remote Adapter. It had a little grey thing over the icon. So.. I uninstall it.
Then I clicked on the action menu and Scan for hardware changes and it installs correctly. THEN the windows mobile device center opened. THEN Media Player opened because it wanted to find out about syncing music and stuff I think to the device.
So I close everything and run Media player. I can move it around and it doesnt freeze anymore.
Hopefully this can help someone.....

Nice!!!!!!!! I don't have the same results....however, when I connect my PocketPC phone up, Media Player works just fine. The device driver appears to be fine though.
Thank you for the tip! That is definitely some progress. It's almost like it's trying to sync up to the device even though it's not connected.

Just FYI, I did some testing and everything appears to work fine with Media Player again.
Like I said, I didn't have to do everything you did. All I did was connected my Pocket PC phone and it all worked. I disconnected to make sure everything would still work and it does.
Thank you again njchris for letting us know!
