WMP 11 not respond at all

Windows Me GARBAGE
When I try to play a *.wav file Windows media player reports "Cannot play back the audio stream: no audio hardware is available, or the hardware is not responding. (Error=80040256)". Device Manager and System Information indicate that no resources have been allocated to the sound card. Any ideas ?

Very often I have to go to the task manager to close the programs because they are not responding. I don't know very much about computers, so, I don't know what you mean by, imbedded player. I have a Windows Vista Home Premium operating system with media player 11. The audio works fine. Can anyone help? -- DMA.

MP11
I can watch videos through other sites and don't have this problem (IE not responding) on any other page I access. I can't reach anyone at Microsoft customer service to direct me in the right direction because I don't have an extension. I have no clue what I need to do. I'm using Vista with version 11 media player.

Media 7.1 not responding
We are running Windows XP, Office 2007 and Media Player 11. When you click on the link, Windows Media Player loads but hangs trying to load the .wmv file. Nothing shows as not responding but you have to dump Media Player from Task Manager. The files load OK when opened direct from the share.

They all came up empty except for \Windows\system\MSGSRV32.EXE - in Win98. That's EXE, not DLL. 11344 bytes, dated 5/11/1998 at 7:01pm. When I go into Task Manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL) this DLL is not responding. Things like Windows Media Player loads but doesn't play MP3s, Outlook Express doesn't fully load.

If you want to try it, go to http://www.microsoft. com/windows/windowsmedia/player/11/default.aspx It has a lot of new features. Also, if you don't like it, you can remove it I had to restart my comp. and tried that procedure several times and at times it wouldn't rip at ll just froze up and said not responding.
